At Community Physicians Group Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Dr. Marshall will take time to talk with you about what to expect from your breast enhancement. He will answer all your questions about the procedure and your recovery.
Breast implant surgery usually begins with an incision that is well-hidden under your natural breast. Dr. Marshall will then insert and position the implant either under or over your pectoral muscle, depending on factors such as the type and size of your implant and your body type. The incision is then closed with several types of sutures, skin adhesive and surgical tape.
After your breast enhancement surgery, you will be monitored in a recovery area to make sure no problems occur. Most women go home a few hours after surgery, but you’ll need to avoid being active for at least two weeks and wear a support bra at all times for a month. Dr. Marshall will give you specific instructions for caring for your healing incision and relieving any soreness or swelling.
