Upper and lower eyelid blepharoplasty

Eyelid Surgery

At Community Physicians Group Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, your plastic surgeon will take time to discuss your options for eyelid surgery with you and answer all your questions about the procedure and your recovery.

For the upper eyelid procedure, Dr. Marshall makes an incision along the natural crease on your eyelid to conceal the scar. He then removes excess skin, tightens muscles and re-positions fat deposits to restore a natural, more youthful appearance to your eye.

Lower eyelid surgery involves an incision just below the lower lashes. As with the upper eyelid procedure, excess skin is removed and fat can be re-positioned or removed. An alternative lower eyelid procedure uses a transconjunctival incision, which is made inside the lower eyelid. With this method, excess fat can be removed or redistributed without removing any skin.

Dr. Marshall will give you instructions for how to care for your eyes after your surgery. You can use cold compresses to relieve swelling, and lubricating ointment can help if your eyes feel dry or irritated. For most people, full recovery from eyelid surgery takes about three to four weeks.
