Leah grew up in rural Nebraska and attended college at Briar Cliff University, a small liberal arts college in Iowa, where she was an academic all-American volleyball player. During college she worked as a Certified Nurse Assistant which gave her a valuable introduction to health care. Leah attended the University of Nebraska Medical Center for medical school, and then moved to Austin for residency at UT Southwestern. Following residency Leah completed a fellowship in Global Health Leadership through Massachusetts General Hospital. This included splitting her time between practicing OBGYN in a family medicine residency program in Olympia, WA, practicing OBGYN and training residents in a rural area of Kenya, and attending classes for a master’s degree in Public Health at Harvard School of Public Health. Leah is excited to set up practice with the Community Physicians Group and has varied professional interests ranging from abnormal pap smears, family planning, and minimally invasive surgery to high risk pregnancies. She is also excited to work in connection with the family medicine residency program. She is Board Certified in OBGYN and a member of AAGL and FIGO. Personally, Leah loves cooking, independent film, live music, and all of the outdoor activities Missoula has to offer!
