About

A CT is a noninvasive diagnostic imaging test that uses special X-ray equipment with sophisticated computers to produce detailed images of internal organs, bones, soft tissue and blood vessels. CT scanning is often the best method for detecting many different cancers since the images allow your doctor to confirm the presence of a tumor and determine its size and location. CT is fast, painless, noninvasive and accurate. In emergency cases, it can reveal internal injuries and bleeding quickly enough to help save lives.

At Community Medical Center, we use a low-dose CT machine in order to reduce a patients exposure to radiation by up to 40 percent without compromising the quality of the image. This is highly beneficial to young adults and children who are more susceptible to harm from excessive radiation exposure.

We are affiliated with Advanced Imaging who provides Low-Dose Lung CT, Virtual Colonscopy along with other CT imaging services.

Pediatric Sedation Program

We provide Western Montana’s only pediatric intensivist-led pediatric sedation program. We offer minimal, moderate and even deep sedation for children requiring procedures and testing that would be traumatic or painful without sedation. Sedation allows imaging and procedures to be done without intubation, avoiding potential negative effects of general anesthesia on the developing brain. Our pediatric sedation program is a member institution in the Society for Pediatric Sedation, ensuring quality care. Our sedation nurse coordinator ensures seamless experiences for families.
