Pediatricians Answer Calls for Pediatric COVID-19 Vaccine Questions

November 10, 2021

When it comes to the health of their children, parents often have questions and concerns. The COVID-19 vaccine for children is no different – which is why pediatricians at Community Children’s are donating their time in the evenings to answer calls from parents. Pediatricians understand the science and testing behind vaccines, they also understand kids and what it is like to be a parent.

“As a parent, I understand wanting information to make the best decisions for my kids,” said Dr. Lauren Wilson, pediatric hospitalist at Community Children’s in Missoula and parent of two young boys. “This is why it’s important we spend time having one on one conversations with parents. I understand it is a hard choice for some parents, so speaking with a medical professional and knowing the science can make it easier.”

Pediatricians will be available by phone November 6 to 18 from 5 to 7 pm. They will not be able to provide specific medical advice for individual children, however, they are available to answer questions and concerns about the vaccine and connect families with primary & specialty care providers, if necessary. If you or someone you know has questions about the COVID-19 vaccine for children age 5+, call Community’s Nurse on Call Line at (406) 327-4770. Calls to the Nurse on Call line are free of charge.

Community Children's is hosting a pediatric vaccine clinic for children ages 5-11 and their older siblings through Nov. 19 at Community FirstCare on North Reserve. Schedule an appointment online at CommunityFirstCare.com
