We're proud to welcome a variety of residents and students into our Resident, Student & Job Shadow Affiliation programs. If you are planning to be one of our guest residents, students or job shadows, you'll need to review documents and submit forms in advance.
Medical Residency Program
We are proud to partner with The Family Medicine Residency of Western Montana to prepare you for any career in family medicine. The program is a 3-year Family Medicine program accredited by the ACGME, including Osteopathic Recognition, sponsored by The University of Montana, and affiliated with the University of Washington Family Medicine Residency Network.
Clinical Rotations (MD, DO, PA, NP)
Community Medical Center is sponsored by The University of Montana and affiliated with the University of Washington Family Medicine Residency Network. CMC is committed to providing high quality medical education rotations to students of affiliated schools for required and elective rotations. All rotations are scheduled through the hospital’s Learning & Advancement Center.
Registered Nurse Fellowship Program
Nurses employed by critical access hospitals participating in this program will gain experience in Level II and Level III NICU care; Labor and Delivery; Obstetrics and be able to take these skills back to your facility to optimize the care of newborns and mothers in their community. The program will be tailored to the individual’s experience and needs.
Pharmacy Residency Program
There are two ASHP-accredited Pharmacy Practice (PGY1) residency positions administrated by Community Medical Center. The residency is professionally affiliated with the University of Montana Pharmacy Practice Department. The residency includes rotations in Internal Medicine, Critical Care, Ambulatory Care, Pain Management, NICU, and Pediatrics and are flexible according to resident interests.
Student Practicums / Internships (PT, SLP, OT, RN)
Undergraduate and graduate students can experience firsthand from our experienced adult and pediatric medical specialists. Clinical practicums and internships are offered in physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech-language pathology, nursing and pharmacy at Community Medical Center & Community Children's.
Job Shadow Program
Job shadowing is a brief period of observational experience that pairs individuals with Community Medical Center or Community Children's professionals to learn more about a particular career within our healthcare system. This program is not intended for vendors or medical product representatives. Job shadowing experiences are designed for high school, college, and workforce individuals who are interested in career exploration.
