Community Medical Center Announces New CNO & COO

Community Medical Center (CMC) announced today that Hollie Nagel, MSN, RNC, CPPS has been named Chief Nursing Officer and Sandy Leggett, DNP, MSN, MBA, RN has been named Chief Operating Officer at Community Medical Center.
“As we celebrate National Nurses Week, I can think of no better time than now to have Hollie and Sandy step into these important leadership roles,” said Bob Gomes, chief executive officer (CEO) of Community Medical Center. “I am thrilled to fill these critical leadership roles with such strong nursing leaders. Their experience, collaborative vision for the future and their passion for Community Medical Center will benefit our staff and the Missoula community.”
Hollie joined Community in 2018 as Director of Quality Risk Management. She has taken on numerous leadership roles including Senior Director of Nursing Operations and Ethics and Compliance Officer. Hollie has proven to be an exemplary leader with a tremendous amount of clinical and nursing operational expertise. In 2023 she led Community’s Women and Newborns team in becoming the third hospital in the U.S. to receive The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval for Advanced Certification in Perinatal Care. Hollie is a registered nurse certified in inpatient obstetrics and a certified professional in patient safety (CPPS).
Sandy joined CMC last fall as interim CNO. Prior to joining Community, she held roles of CNO and COO for small and large organizations. She brings extensive executive experience, culture formation and lean initiatives for process improvement. During her time at Community, she has worked closely with Hollie, nursing leaders and the senior leadership team to focus on patient safety, nursing union relations and creating a culture where people choose to work and receive care.
