Hannah Iverson Awarded the Daisy Award
August 11, 2022

Congratulations to Hannah Iverson from Labor & Delivery for being awarded the Daisy Award . She was nominated by a patient.
“We were thrown some rather challenging curveballs throughout our twin delivery, including a last minute switch to CMC, a hospital that our provider does not do deliveries at. I, myself, am a labor nurse so my expectations were not only high, but I was stripped of the opportunity to be delivered surrounded by all my closest friends and coworkers. This seemed a setup for such disappointment, as nobody could beat my own designed delivery. That being said, I was miserable, in pain, put through the emotional ringer throughout the entire pregnancy, grieving the loss of my grandmother and just in general not physically doing very well. My medical case was a rather complex and high risk one. I was also very worried about the well-being of my babies as they both had a condition that warranted delivery that could no longer be delayed. From the moment we arrived and were greeted by Hannah (our delivery nurse) we were treated with such respect and genuine kindness, it took down all the guards I might have had up in order to advocate for myself. Exceeding my expectations was no easy feat, but Hannah did it. We had an enjoyable time getting prepped for surgery during one of the most intensely anxiety provoking few hours of my life. Never underestimate the power of a good labor and delivery nurse. For their role is monumental in the most important parts of people's lives and they can make the memory a lasting nightmare or a dream. Hannah did the latter and we are forever grateful.“
